Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

At WOWTAG we only process the data we need to make your wowtag work. Here is what we process, why, and what rights you have.

Who is responsible

Maversoul LLC, a New Mexico (USA) company, registered at 4300 Ridgecrest Dr SE, Ste L 1509, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, USA. Privacy contact: hello@getwowtag.com.

Representative in the European Union (Art. 27 GDPR): Maversoul LLC, Avenida Cardenal Herrera Oria 124, 4.º dcha., 28034 Madrid, España. hello@getwowtag.com

What data we process and why

If you activate a wowtag for your business. Your email, to create your account, send you login links (we don't use passwords) and tell you about important changes. And the business you choose on Google (only its public identifier), to take your customers to your review page. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

If you activate a pet tag. Your email, your pet's details (name, photo, breed, age, temperament, allergies, medication and vet) and the contact name and phone number you choose. Whatever you mark as visible appears on the profile seen by whoever taps the tag: you control what is shown. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

If you find a pet. If you tap "Send my location" or write a message, we forward your location, your message and, if you give it, your phone number to the owner by email. We don't keep them in our systems. Legal basis: your consent, given when you tap the button.

When someone taps a wowtag. We count each wowtag's taps per day to show them to its owner. We don't store your IP address or anything that identifies you: to avoid counting the same tap twice we use, for one hour, an encrypted code that changes every day. Legal basis: legitimate interest (service statistics).

Security. To stop abuse we use your IP address for a maximum of 2 hours, plus Cloudflare Turnstile's anti-bot check. Legal basis: legitimate interest (protecting the service and its users).

We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising and we don't build profiles.

Cookies

We only use technical cookies, which don't require your consent: "wt_session", to keep you logged in to your dashboard for 30 days, and "wt_lang", to remember the language you choose for one year. Cloudflare Turnstile may use its own technical security cookies. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.

Who we share it with

With providers that deliver the service for us, and only for that purpose: Cloudflare (hosting, database, security and incoming email), Resend (sending emails) and Google (business search and review links; we don't send it your personal data). Some are in the USA: transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Your account and wowtag data, for as long as you have the account. If you ask us to close it, we delete the data within 30 days at most. Login links expire after 30 minutes and sessions after 30 days, and they are deleted automatically. Tap counters contain no personal data.

Your rights

You can ask us for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to hello@getwowtag.com. You can change much of your data yourself from your dashboard. If you think we haven't handled your request properly, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk; in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission, dataprotection.ie).

Children

WOWTAG is not intended for children under 16.

Changes

If we make important changes to this policy, we'll let you know by email or on the website.
